Through The Winding Roads

Connecting People to Nature, the theme for World Environment Day 2017, implores us to get outdoors and into nature, to appreciate its beauty and its importance, and to take forward the call to protect the Earth that we share.

Mount Kangchenjunga (Khangchendzonga, 8534 m), the third highest mountain in the world, revered by the Sikkimese as their protective deity!

En route to Thambi viewpoint (11200 ft), the road through Zuluk makes almost 32 hairpin turns to reach Lungthung, which makes it a unique engineering feat. Named after the Civil Engineer who constructed this amazing winding road, Thambi (11200 ft), a roadside viewpoint (14 km from Zuluk), offers a majestic panoramic view of Kangchenjunga range.
