Lesser celandine (Ranunculus ficaria) - The Spring Messenger

 

A low-growing, hairless perennial plant, with fleshy dark green, heart-shaped leaves. It is more commonly reported to flower from March until May, and is sometimes called the spring messenger as a consequence.
