Lunch break beside Dras river...... with pulao rice, fish curry and payesh!!

 

The Dras River is 86 km long, fed by many glacial streams and flows entirely in the Dras Valley. Its source lies in the Machoi Glacier near Zoji La (pass). National Highway, NH 1D runs parallel to the river.

 

Dras (3230 m; 10990 ft) is a town in the Kargil District of Jammu and Kashmir, India. Dras is the coldest place in India, experiences an altitude-influenced subarctic climate. Winters are cold with average lows around −22 °C, and as low as −45 °C at the height of winter.
