Success!!

I brought this clock for 25 cents!!! BUT the clear plastic was completely encrusted with thick hard white crude. At first I heated the clear plastic with a hair dryer, stopping when I saw the white crude disappear leaving a slightly wet bubbly appearance. I wiped the wet with a tissue depositing brown streaks on the tissue. But there was also mold UNDER the plastic so the cover had to come off. Fortunately while on an unrelated search I read instructions on how to get the nails out of vintage Fisher Price toys at "This Old Toy". The nails can be taken out by a sliding thin blade under the edge of the nail, then sliding another blade under that one then wedging a screw driver between the two blades just slightly raising the nail enough to be able to grab it with flush cutter, gently twisting and pulling until the nail is completely out!
