Has Anybody Seen My Cows?
Once upon a time in the Wild Wild West of the Colorado Plains when my grandmother, Daisy, was young and wild, Mrs. Olsen's daughter, who was a true Cowgirl in every sense of the word, came for a visit. This was the time when cattle roamed free and there were no fences to ignore. On this particular visit Mrs. Olsen's daughter was looking for some of her cows. "Has anybody seen my cows?" she asked Daisy as she waved her hand around in the weirdest way also rubbing her hand back and forth across her forehead. Grandma would burst out laughing at this point in the story, for it is Grandma that told me the story. She laughed and laughed saying that Olsen girl just wanted to show off her fancy new ring. And to this day whenever my sisters or I get a new piece of jewelry we go around asking, " Has anybody seen my cows?"
