Reaching the Bar

In order to restring the foot the elastic cord must go in the 1/2x1/4" opening all the way to a bar 3.25" inside, loop around that bar and come back out. The red tape marks where the bar is inside the calf. I tried different ideas such as the loop of string at the end of the straw and a crochet hook...didn't work. Jerry came up with the working idea: tie a thread around a small nut, drop the nut into the calf, push the nut over to the other side with the dental tool, hold the doll and shake the nut drops out. Tie a strong string to the thread, pull it through then tie the elastic cord to the string and pull again. Put a crochet hook across the hole, tie the elastic cord around it, pull as tight as possible, tie a knot in the elastic cord, rehook the foot, remove the crochet hook.....DONE
