Lap full of Babies
Got a new batch of babies Thursday night. 4 Gray squirrels that look to be about 5 1/2 weeks old. They appear to be doing pretty well. One had a nosebleed initially and I was concerned but he seems to be ok and has started eating some. Probably caused from falling out of a nest and hitting the ground. They are very sweet!! Their mamma was close by but was dead :(. Some people at a nearby rec center found them and were playing with them out in the wind. If anyone ever finds babies like this - the first step should be to warm them up - put in a box with an old towel, blanket or rag. If a heating pad is handy, set the box on top of the heating pad (set on medium low) making sure from time to time that it isn't getting too hot in the box.
