This is a single exposure of the Orion Nebula (M42), with only minor touch-ups to show the raw exposures used. This is 1 of 87 exposures used for the final image.

 

This image was taken with a 5D Mark II and a 70-200mm 2.8L lens. This image was used to compile a final image from 87 1sec. exposures at 200mm @ 2.8. In addition, 19 “dark” fames, and 20 “bias” frames were also used in stacking the final image.
