Eryops tooth
Fossil tooth of the labyrinthodont amphibian Eryops. Labyrinthodonts ("maze-toothed") had a highly detailed unfolded pattern to their tooth enamel, which I tried to photograph at the base of the tooth, but I think I need a microscope to adequately see that feature. Lower Permian, Ryan Formation, Oklahoma. The tooth is about 1 cm long; the whole animal was around 2 meters.
