The National Association of School Masters & Union of Women Teachers (NASUWT) is a trade union representing the interests of teachers and headmasters throughout the UK and currently has around 280,000 members. It was founded in 1976 by a merger of the National Association of Schoolmasters (founded 1920) and the Union of Women Teachers (founded 1909).
