“Liberalism the Key” - political badge (1940’s / 1950’s)

Did the British Liberal Party issue this badge to promote their election campaigns? The Liberal Party contested the 1945, 1950, 1951 and 1955 general elections, but which one might this badge relate to? “Liberalism the Key” may have been an electoral slogan but was unable to find a confirmation of this.

This design of badge was also available with a buttonhole stud fitting and smaller versions were also produced.
