English Draughts Association - membership badge (1950’s)

The English Draughts Association (EDA) was established c.1898 as a national governing body for the board-game of draughts (checkers). The EDA is one of six national organisations that regulate the rules of the game and competitions throughout the UK.

 

The Fédération Mondiale du Jeu de Dames (FMJD, World Draughts Federation) was established in 1947 and is the international sports body uniting national draughts federations.
