(MUOF) Manchester Unity of Odd Fellows - AMC award medal (c.1964)

The Manchester Unity of Odd Fellows (MUOF) was a Friendly Society established in 1810 and are still active today offering savings and a wide range of financial services. With the development of the National Health Service and Social Welfare system in Britain after 1946, the role of Friendly Societies declined. Many disappeared while others adapted and evolved to the position they now occupy in the world of financial services.

This medal was awarded when a member first attended their first Annual Moveable Conference (AMC). It depicts the Three Link emblem of the MUOF along with their motto AMICITA AMOR ET VERITAS (Friendship, Love & Truth) representing the three links. The purple ribbon indicates the wearer had taken their 'Purple Degree' (Third Degree).
