N9505C Catalina
N9505C
Consolidated PBY-5A (Steward-Davis 28-5ACF EMQ) Super Catalina
Yanks Air Museum
Built
C/N 1581
Newly registered to the Chino CA museum just on July 3rd which hopefully means it will finally be restored after languishing here for years, maybe not flying much after starring in the movie Always in 1989, certainly not after 1993. I was not planning on visiting here but I heard of the existence of this machine and was not much of a diversion from my route. There were no other fixed wing aircraft visible other than glider tugs, which is now the prime purpose of this rather large airfield which was a WW2 B17 bomber training base and is also used by Ameriflight with service to Portland and Boeing Field.
