Delicate arch

Before going I had already previsualized the shot of the Delicate arch with the warm light from the sunset hitting the rock. I was so busy taking pictures in another part of the park that I was running out of time.

To get to the Delicate arch on time, I ran the 1.5 miles from the car park. I was too late, and the sun was behind clouds with no sunlight hitting the arch. I was frustrated as this was my final sunset in arches national park. I took a few shots of the sunset - it was okay, but not ideal. I thought I might aswell stay until after sunset to see what happens. As soon as the sun was gone so were all the other tourists and photographers - except me and 2 other photographers from the US.

They had just bought a Brinkmann max million flashlight at walmart to try lightpainting for the first time. I haden't bothered bringing mine as I didn't plan for shooting after the sunset. They asked me if I had light painted before, and I gave them some tips. The guy that wasn't into photography was the "painter" and the two others + myself were taking the pictures while he was painting. I thought the light painted photo was much more exciting and different then anything I had previsualized.

I have seen a lot of beautiful landscapes, but I must say that arches national park is one of the most stunning and interesting places I have photographed.
