Donna Summer Once Upon A Time
I just can't believe it.
This is the 1st Donna Summer album I bought, in 1978. I saw her on the Merv Griffin show and although I had heard her songs on the radio, seeing her made me fall in love. She was the perfect segue for me; my folks liked The Carpenters and ABBA, (and so did I), but Donna was great, she was the new 'disco', but she also referenced '40's and 50's music just as the Ramones did, as Debbie Harry and Blondie did...she was, for me, the first logical step to punk rock, as odd as it may seem.
