Tugboat- "Edna G.," Minnesota, Two Harbors, Duluth, Missabe & Iron Range Railway, (Steamboat)
The Edna G., a coal-fed, steam-powered tugboat was built in 1896 by the Cleveland Ship Building Company. The Edna G. was named after Edna Greatsinger, daughter of Jacob L. Greatsinger then president of the Duluth & Iron Range Railroad. The Edna G. served the ore ships at the Two Harbors ore docks. During World War I, the tugboat was pressed into government service for two years on the east coast. In 1974, the Edna G. was designated a National Historic Site as the only steam powered tugboat on the Great Lakes. The 110- feet long tugboat was retired in 1981. In 1994, the Edna G. was fully restored. The Edna G. is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
