Wisconsin, Sturgeon Bay, Sturgeon Bay Bridge
The Sturgeon Bay Bridge, which opened in 1931, is a through truss, double leaf Scherzer type rolling lift bascule bridge with fixed truss spans as approaches. As a result, the bridge is composed of trusses from one bank to the other. In the early 2000s, the bridge faced the threat of demolition. However, a citizens group successfully halted the demolition and the bridge was rehabilitated in 2010. The bridge is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
