The Tivoli Theatre open its doors in 1921, hosting moivies and live shows. The theatre was known as the "Jewel of the South" when it was owned by Publix Theater, a division of Paramount Studios. The Tivoli closed its doors in 1961. A "partial" renovated theater reopened in 1963. After a more extensive renovation, completed in 1989, the theater reopened hosing the performing arts. The building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
