North Carolina, Person County, Van Hook Subscription School (925)

The school known as the Van Hook Subscription School was started around 1810 and operated until the Civil War, and possibly beyond. The log school is the one of the oldest former school structures in North Carolina. The school, measuring 10 x 15 feet was located in southwesten Person County before being moved to Roxboro at the site of County History Museum
