Nest- Hornet, Minnesota, Anoka County- Fridley, Springbrook Nature Center

The disintegrating nest was used the previous summer. The water resistant nest was built about 25 feet off the ground on a small tree branch. The nest was made of dead wood and plant material that was pulverized by chewing and mixed with the insects saliva to create the outer skin that appears to be made from paper.
