BT manual stacker
In the 1950s the standard pallet was introduced
to a wider audience, and demand for BT products
grew steadily. To meet customer demand for
efficient materials handling, BT continued to develop
and broaden its range of fork lift trucks.
BT quickly realized the need for efficient
service. In 1954 it began to open service centers
around Sweden. This focus on service and quality
would later become closely associated with the BT
brand.
Technological leadership has been BT’s motto
from the very beginning and still distinguishes
the brand. Back in the mid-fifties, for example, a
research project was funded to identify when it is
most advantageous to use gas, diesel or battery
power.
Before the decade drew to a close, BT began
producing manual stackers and exporting its
products on a small scale.
