8. Fowler Road Locomotive 16263 "Talisman"
Busily hauling a loaded military trailer around Beamish Museum is the magnificent sight of Fowler B6 Road Locomotive No.16263 "Talisman". The locomotive was originally built in 1925 and is registered NE 2834.
"Talisman" is an almost entirely new engine containing only a few parts from the original, so it is regarded as a rebuild and can still carry its original registration number. In it's original condition it was used by Norman E Box of Manchester (UK) who were later taken over by Pickerings.
The engine was at Beamish for the Steam Gala event of April 2023.
