Armstrong Whitworth Road Roller No.11 "Albert"
A rare example of a type of steam road roller which was never made in great numbers, and now very few survive. Here, this example is making a tight turn on the roads of Beamish Museum.
The engine is an Armstrong Whitworth 12-ton steam road roller, works No.11 "Albert" of 1923, registered PT 1034, and originally used by Bishop Auckland Urban District Council in NE England.
The engine was at Beamish for the Steam Gala event of April 2023..
