1922 Humber 11.4 Saloon

Standing in the colliery yard at Beamish Museum is this 1922 Humber 11.4, 1743cc Saloon, registered EE 3490.

 

Humber Limited was a British manufacturer of bicycles, motorcycles, established in 1887. By 1913 Humber was the 2nd largest car manufacturer in the UK.

 

The company had ceased all but car production by the 1930's and had become part of the Rootes Group. The Group was bought out by the Chrysler Corporation in 1967.

 

The car was at Beamish for their 2023 Steam Gala.
