Aveling & Porter Road Roller 8754 "The Squire"
Idling in the station yard at Beamish Museum is Aveling & Porter 10-ton road roller "The Squire", No.8754 of 1916, registered VN 2370.
Earlier records show the name as "The Squire of Tong", although it now seems to have dropped the second part of the name.
