Victorian Arcade Game
Seen in the Regional Museum Store at Beamish Museum is this Victorian arcade game. The coin-slot game was built around 1900 and shows two baby dolls drinking from bottles. The object of the game is to wind the handles to make the babies drink. The first one finished wins. This type of arcade game was common at seasides and fairgrounds at the turn of the 19th/20th Century. To the left is a 1906 post box from Newcastle upon Tyne and, to the right, is the base of a tramway traction pole from the same area showing the BET Group logo.
