Darkest Days

During what felt (at the time... oh how naive we were) like the darkest days of the COVID-19 pandemic, Amtrak announced that already-reduced service on several routes, including the Hiawatha Service, would be temporarily eliminated altogether.

On this day- appropriately gloomy- the last northbound Hiawatha train for over a month, already operating with a shortened consist, passes through KK Bridge interlocking just south of downtown Milwaukee.
