It's Grim Up North (with acknowledgements to a respected P&ARP member)

The weather has been so unbearably hot here in the Czech Republic (35 degrees locally) that I have rarely ventured to the lineside and have been culling though my old bw negs.

This was taken just post August '68 and was on a trip from London to the NW to see if there were any withdrawn locos still lurking about. The lamps owe nothing to Photoshop - ,it really was that grim. Welcome to the diesel age with half the shed tracks already torn up. The only problem is that I didn't keep a record and now can't remember where it is. Any idea IGUN please?
