1900s Berlin as Yvette Guilbert
Introducing French Female Impersonator. Robert Bertin. This image I discovered on ebay a few years ago, but research into this performer has been largely fruitless. There are copies in various library archives around the world, including being part of a set of French postcards (1900-1930) at the Cornell University Library.
It seems Robert Bertin was active during the "Belle Epoque" era (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Belle_%C3%89poque) and this image shows him impersonating Yvette Guilbert another popular female performer of the time, on who more information may be found here en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yvette_Guilbert.
Again, if any reader out there has any further information, I would only be too glad to hear more.
