A Carpenter Wasp, Here's lookin' at you kid.

At least thats what I have been told that it is. Its about an inch and a half long or more.

He buzzes his wings a lot but is very slow and not at all aggressive. I do not believe it

has a stinger but it has these mandibles that move out sideways and they can open

quite wide. They are closed now of course. I found one in my house and photographed

and released him and the next day I found another one. This might even be the same

one for all I know.
