Desire, New South Promenade, Blackpool 11.05.23

One of the exhibits on the Great Promenade Show, Desire by Chris Knight constructed in 2001, is an abstract sculpture 8m high, made from contrasting rusty corten steel with shiny stainless steel spikes. Inspired by the town's reputation as a destination for 'dirty weekends', and its hidden 'fetish scene'. It casts the shadow of a spiky heart on the promenade.
