Skyline of Panama City from the Casco Viejo, in the foreground you see the Cinta Costeira, a sort of ring road built to decongest the city from the through traffic. It was a project which caused a lot of controversy especially opposed by Unesco World Heritage, but the authorities refused the tunnel alternative , claiming it was too costly. Now the Casco Viejois in danger of being removed from the World Heritage list.
