Sat by the old rail lines

with a guitar and a waistcoat

Playing old blues on missing tracks

just waiting for a stanger

 

aint seen a face for a time

been singing melodies in ghost towns

whistle by the waiting milestones

still asking for his own spare change

 

soon enough he'll pass these lines

and spare a penny and a poppy

for a mojo beggar just like him

casting shadows on a former self
