anniversary nostalgia

in the throes of winter they waltz

to a liitle number coughed out by an old gramaphone

keep on keeping on in the harsh face of a final season

in old age and youth alike they were the same

past 10 years, past 20 past 50 even, and they still dance

here's to a lasting marriage and a union of hearts

who still persist to love right through adversity

still embracing just the same as all those years ago.
