For this picture, we were at a WAWA that had all kinds of caution tape up, so my daughter laid down near it, to create a dramatic effect. It was interesting because her lying down and the tape dangling led for some interesting challenges photograph-wise.
[The next photo I took was funny, too--my other kid in the car, dying of embarrassment.]
To give this a more gritty feel, I played around a bit:
Exposure +1.75
Offset -.3235
Gamma Correction .52
I think the blue and the yellow just pop and really draw you into the subject, wondering what is going on.
