Bachman's sparrow

My Kaufman field guide describes this sparrow as "a shy, uncommon sparrow of southern pine woods, palmetto stands, and brushy fields, staying near the ground in dense grass. Seldom seen except when singing." Well, this guy was singing his heart out at the Piedmont NWR, and his song was beautiful. Another lifer for me!
