Guardian at the Gate

This shot of Maureen was taken during the Lighting Essentials workshop in Philadelphia on October 26, 2008. She was so much fun to work with, and looked amazing no matter what outfit we put her in, but I particularly liked this pant suit and how it looked in relation to this gated archway.

For the lighting setup, I had one SB-800 positioned about 4-5 feet to her left at about eye level, which is what's casting the gate shadows. I also had one SB-800 sitting behind the gates and on her right which illuminated the background a bit, and I used a barn door to keep this light from spilling onto Maureen. I used Nikon CLS to trigger the strobes.

All of the processing was done using Lightroom 2, although I intend to later put some finishing touches on it with Photoshop CS4 (which is on order). I've also processed this is several different ways, but this is the one that I liked the best. Please let me know your thoughts or suggestions (i.e. if and how you would do it differently).
