I Ate All of This Tonight
Amazing invitation Prix Fixe menu tonight at Walnut Grille with three seatings. We took the first because another snowstorm is hitting us and we had to drive into town for this. It was well worth it. There were two choices for every course; we ordered the same in each except for dessert, where we split both. I just want to share these photos with you because I don't think I've ever packed away so much food in one sitting -- and I want people to know vegans can eat very well. I wish I was a photographer like you guys. This was like our own Babette's Feast.
1. SOUP: Lobster and Mushroom Bisque
Pearl Tapioca and Parsley
2. APPETIZER: Caviar Kisses
Rice Medallion, Crème Fraiche, English Cucumber, Kelp Caviar.
3. SALAD: Little Leaf Salad
Frisee, Chicories, Arugula, Rosemary Smoked Pecans, Blood Orange and Cranberry Vinigrette.
4. ENTREE: Humungous Heart-Shaped Spinach Raviolis
Cashew Cheese, Wild Mushroom, Tomato Basil Concasse.
5. DESSERT: Red Velvet Cake
Basil Coconut, Sabayon and Brownie Sundae
Vanilla Bean Ice Cream, Chocolate Fudge
X. WINE: McGregor VIneyard Black Russian Red 2010
ALL VEGAN.
