The Sir Duncan Rice Library was officially opened by the Queen on 24th September 2012.
The library was designed by Danish architects Schmidt Hammer Lassen and the engineers were Arup and Partners.
"The building is designed to minimise long term running costs and energy use. Prof Sir Duncan Rice studied history at Aberdeen as an undergraduate and was Principal and Vice Chancellor from 1996 to 2010.
