On Helvellyn

Two friends at the top of Nethermost Gully - a picture taken some years ago, probably the late 90s.

We'd just climbed it in perfect snow conditions. There wasn't even a cornice, which is unusual for this gully.

It's sometimes possible to snow and ice climb on the east side of Helvellyn when there's hardly a snowflake to be found in the rest of the Lake District.

Scanned from a poor quality slide.
