Mary Radike Smith says: Christine is a dear friend, who has magical talents with her camera and with editing.... not to mention what an amazing gardener she is! I LOVE this photo of a ruined abbey which was once very grand indeed. Christine's photo of it gives me a bit of the feeling one must have had standing inside this splendid hall, and looking out the beautiful arched windows, to see a working monastery. Wonderful work!

Mary Radike Smith says: France is the biggest traveler I know, and I have seen much of the world through her eyes, right here on Flickr. This photograph of someplace in Italy took my breath away with its beauty, the wonderful point of view, the richness of color, the feeling that terrifying drop off gives me, and the lovely little village and distant forest. Incredibly beautiful!

Mary Radike Smith says: John is a big favorite of mine. Whereas he normally takes shots of his children, or places around Chicago, this one finds him traveling. He found this amazing place in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan... these cliffs/hills are made of sand! It is such a strange and unusual place, and such a fantastic photograph, it needed to be displayed here!

Mary Radike Smith says: I have seen photos of Death Valley before, but none of them stunned me into gaping silence like this one did. Arpita photographed this so perfectly it is magnificent. The light and shadow she waited for, which shows every amazing detail of these sand dunes, make the dunes look like something alive. The composition she chose has a wonderful feeling of being framed, and shows the beautiful formations in all their varied glory. And the absolutely perfect focus throughout the entire image is also amazing. "Wow!" just doesn't do it!

Mary Radike Smith says: I am not sure if cheezepleaze has been in my galleries before, but he sure landed in this gallery with a triumphant entry. Cheeze lives in Australia, and shows me all sorts of things I have never seen before, which is a real pleasure for me. This photo really made my jaw drop... such amazing formations, and color, and shapes and textures. I love that slice of sky you can see underneath the left pillar... wow! I am very glad I got to see this incredible beauty... thanks Cheezepleaze!

Mary Radike Smith says: I don't know Mary very well, but she takes beautiful photos. But when this series showed up on her photostream it had me gasping with wonder. She showed us caves which you can only reach in the coldest part of winter, because you have to walk over the ice to see them. This photo was on the way to the caves, showing an intrepid person walking over the ice, with the nature-sculpted ice giving us an idea of how very very small that person must feel, way out there. Just wonderful.

Mary Radike Smith says: Art (not his real name, just what I call him) lives in Scotland and I am beginning to feel like I have been there, because his photos show me SO much of the wonders and beauties of that land. He shows me the plants, animals, buildings, roads, oceans, harbors, and, in this amazing example, he shows me seaside cliffs, covered in flowers, looking out to the mysterious mist covered rocks. So beautiful, and he photographed it so perfectly!

Mary Radike Smith says: The Lake District in England might be first on my list of places I would visit, if I was given youth and money, anyway! I have always read of it, but this amazing photo, so beautiful, so dramatic, really brought home to me the deep beauty and wonder of this place. Jeff takes wonderful bird photos and other shots of England, but this landscape just blew me away! How wonderful this is!

Mary Radike Smith says: Alison is a wonderful photographer who often "wows" me with her work. She appears in many of my galleries. This place, in Portugal, which I had never heard of or seen before, Alison introduced me to, through her photos. This one, with the two people to show the scope and size of this amazing place, and the soft blue sea and sky, and the light and shadows she found in the stone... it is so incredible and exciting to see, that I just had to put it right here in this gallery!

Mary Radike Smith says: Arpita has been in my galleries before... there is one of hers in this gallery already. This time she has gone to Iceland, and her series of photos from there have been piling up in my Favorites page! When this one came up on my screen, I was so enchanted that I just stared and stared at it. Arpi says it was a black volcanic sand beach with moss covered mounds and hills of a bright green. So amazing, so magical, so unique, so beautiful.
