Cross Section - Pepper IMG_2490

Well, things have been crazy for me here. I've been finding, interviewing, hiring, training, and troubleshooting a team of caregivers for my sister, Ellen, who has Alzheimers, End-stage kidney disease, and heart failure. Ellen lives about 1,500 miles from me.

Just to give you an idea of what sort of month it has been, and why it has been difficult for me to find Flickr time, or photography time (or for that matter... grocery shopping, cooking, laundry, cleaning, showering, piano playing or outside chores time), here is what my phone company reported about the past 30 day's phone usage for me:

Texts 6,197

Calls 1,575

Anyway, the caregivers are mostly in place now, and though I still take many calls a day, it is nothing like it was. So, today, I have had a chance to breathe.

A few days ago I was cutting up a pepper and I forgot to take the center out first. I was struck by the cross section of the colorful pepper, so I decided to photograph it.

Today I was finally able to get some Flickr time, so here is that cross-section photo.

I have kept up with all your photos, whether I commented or not. You all have brought needed light into my life, and I thank you all for your artistic genius, your traveling, your birdwatching, your light and colors!

Almost spring! (Or autumn for the Southern Hemisphere)
