Standing across the road from the later Scots Church, this is a beautiful church in the Lombardic Romanesque style ie: a la medieval Lombardy in Italy. Designed by architect Joseph Reed (who also designed the Scots Church), its polychrome brickwork and tower are particularly pleasing.
Built for the Congregationalist (or Independent) Church, it is now part of the Uniting Church of Australia (uniting Presbyterian, Methodist and Congregationalist churches) and in 1977 it was renamed St Michael's.
