Great Tit Singing
During the afternoon of last Friday, I heard my first singing Great Tit of the season. Unfortunately it had stopped singing by the time I had my camera ready to record it, but I successfully managed to get one yesterday. This was one of at least three I heard singing while out yesterday. This particular Tit started off quite quiet, but gradually got louder and persuaded some at least one other Great Tit nearby to join in with the singing. It seemed to go on for quite sometime until another Great Tit came to investigate the one I recorded here.
The song of the Great Tit is one of my favourite bird songs, so I'm very happy to hear them again. I used to associate their song with spring a lot, but even in December there are plenty chirping away in the trees and bushes of the local parks, woodland and gardens. Dunnocks have also recently started singing again. Looks like spring is on the way :-)
