Male Blackcap Singing

Was disappointed about not seeing any Swallows in the skies over the local area today, but one bird that has recently arrived to the local area did a good job of keeping me busy while out, and that bird was the Blackcap.

All the ones I saw today were males and a few of them were quite happily singing away. This was one I got in the morning. It wasn't doing the sweet whistle song that they normally do, but one that sounded a lot like that of a Nightingale to me. Well, they are in the same family!

Lovely to see and hear them singing again. A great sign that Spring is here :-)

I'm really sorry if the quality is bad in the video above. They usually playback in really good quality after I've published them. Might be because I've only just uploaded it :(
