"Faint Shadow of Love"
Childhood is but a shadow of whom we will become. A fading moment in time that reveals our ultimate adult self.
This truth is why we nurture our children. They will one day run this place we call our world. They will be our lawmakers and our police, our engineers and our environmentalists, our healthcare workers and our nursing home attendants. How well we have done will determine how well they treat us in our later years, but also how well they treat the world they have been given so much great responsibility.
When that time comes, we will be the shadow of our children, a fading moment in time that reveals who we became, and who we were when the responsibility of the world was ours.
