USS Constitution---"Old Ironsides"

This recently finished model was constructed by Larry T., the same guy who did the deck/hull of the Oriskany a few years ago. This model was a 'restoration' of a botched job that one of his friend's father had started late in life and not in good health. After the father passed away, Larry pretty much started from scratch and brought her back to this beautiful condition. I think the scale is 1/72 or close...it's about 2 feet long and just as tall, a very impressive sight. Currently...2016...she is in dry dock at the Boston Navy Yard.

In order to get much of the ship in focus, I used the "Focus Stacking" technique that utilizes multiple images shot at slightly different focal points and then magically assembled into a photo that, while taken at a close distance, still has a great depth of field. (Contrary to classic Optical Law!) Credit for this amazing software goes to Combine ZP...!

This intricate model is best appreciated by using the "+" enlarge option or one of the "download" choices. Try to imagine the many, many hours of work just doing the rigging of the lines....whewwww...!
