Reaching for the Sky, Grand Teton 2011
(1 in a multiple picture album)
Of the 30 or so National Parks we have been to, Grand Teton is at the top for mind blowing views. When they first come into view one is amazed that such vertical peaks could thrust up from flat land. The closer you get, the more you are amazed by their vertical height and ruggedness. You can drive the 45 mile length of the park and never find a bad view. Add to that many alpine lakes and the Snake River which flows through, and you have a park worth visiting . . . more than once.
Note the glacier in the top right of the picture. It lies on the right slope of the peak for which the park is named.
