Sierra Sunrise, Convict Lake, CA 2019

Several times I had visited Convict Lake in the Mammoth Lakes region of the Eastern Sierra Nevada during daylight. On this trip I had the inspiration to stop there on my way home the final day and await the sunrise. I shivered in the cold and waited. It seemed the sun would never top the peaks behind me but then I began to see a touch of gold on top of Laurel Mountain. Slowly the beautiful color began to creep down towards the water and I snapped some shots. This is one of my favorites.
